A what would you do ?

We have a 1996 Itasca Suncruiser 37RW. We have been camping and enjoying it alot this summer. We also have 3 small children (4, 3, and almost 11 mos) we do not have a toad yet, and are searching. We own a ford 500, that fits all 3 carseats in the back. How hard would it be to tow this vehicle? Should we buy something instead? We couldn't afford anything brand new, but could probably do a decent used vehicle. It has to accommodate 3 carseats in the back. What would you recommend? tow the 500 or find something else. tia!!!

RE: Has anyone camped at Hilton Head Island?

We just arrived yesterday from a great week at Hilton Head and stayed at Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort and Marina. The place was beautiful and very well maintained. It is far from the beaches but traffic was not too bad and parking was plentiful despite being the week of the 4th of July. Park staff was very friendly, especially Ed. My only complaint is that we lugged our 4 bikes in our TT only to find that the bike trails were too far from the campground. I would have rather stayed at the other park which is closer to the bike trails, shops, and beaches but they don't allow us lowly TT's.:R Let me just say...neat...we were in HHI at the same time!!! This was our first time staying for the 4th of July week. Did you get to watch some fireworks??? Did you eat any seafood?? hmmm what if your tt was hooked up to our RV.....then could you stay????

RE: Wakeup times when camping with kids?

My kiddos are all up between 6:30 and 7ish. I keep them in and feed them and get them dressed (ages 9mos, 3yrs, and 4yrs) then we go out. Its closer to 7:30 or 8 at that time. However on our last camping trip my hubby was the one up and loud and waking everyone up around 7....I told him to keep it down he was waking up our neighbors. ;)

RE: Has anyone camped at Hilton Head Island?

Great!!! We saw signs for one, but were unsure of where exactly it was located. My husbands family goes to HHI a couple times a year for a week. We usually stay at Shorewood on S Forest Beach, but now that we have the RV, I think we might want to try that next time. Thank you so much for the input!

RE: Welts on puppy....

another poster said her dogs are allergic to frontline, frontline stopped working on my dogs, we had fleas everywhere!!! it was horrible. finally we switched to advantix. we live in a heavily wooded area and need the tick meds as well. there is another oral medication called capstar. My dogs have had a couple doses in the past of that and it worked well.

RE: Welts on puppy....

first as an ex vet tech (had to quit to raise my children) I would say it seems like an allergic reaction to the frontline. If that is the only thing that has changed in her world. Generally (depending on the breed of dog) you might have one that whelps up easily, and is more sensitive. So for your reference, 1mg per lb of body weight of benadryl. ie 25lb dog gets 25mg of benadryl. :D I kind of get aggravated when a breeder diagnoses a dog. I know they see alot and are around the dogs alot, but a vet spends 8 years in school for what they do. Now off of my soap box. Use a shampoo that has peroxide in it. It will help to get the frontline out of her skin. hth eta those sound like they are hives by the way. as the benadryl gets in her system they should improve. What kind of puppy is she?

Has anyone camped at Hilton Head Island?

We go for a week in the summer every year and rent a condo, now we have a RV and would like to try that next time. Has anyone ever stayed there? Where do you stay? Is it close to the beach? TIA Charlotte

RE: Good Sam Club ERS Auto Renewal w/o Noticel!!!

When I signed up for coverage with them I told them the previous owner of our RV had coverage through them as well until 2010. the representative said that I should have the previous owner call because they would refund her money for the remainder of the term. Maybe you could just tell them you no longer have the RV since you plan on selling it anyways.

RE: What have you repaired after buying a used unit?

evict mice That made me laugh!! :) dh has also tinkered with an outdoor light on the drivers side that wasn't working. He is pretty handy, so I guess I am fortunate. We have replaced 3 batteries too. I had a friend tell me shortly after purchasing that it was a money pit. I told him that you have to think of this as our vacation home. You always have maintenance to do on your house so a house that goes down the road will definitely have things to be repaired. :) Glad to know we are right on pace with everyone else, and thanks for the replies. For the poster who has owned their rig for a year and still hasn't had the chance to camp in it...my heart goes out to you. I hope everything will be fixed soon.

RE: Watching the movie RV right now...

A much funnier RV movie was the The Long Long Trailer with Lucille Ball. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047191/ I have never heard of this movie before, will have to check it out.

What have you repaired after buying a used unit?

Just curious. We purchased our 96 suncruiser about a month or more ago, and so far we have replaced the VHS player with a DVD player, the windshield wipers, had the carbuerator rebuilt on the generator, have paid to have the oil changed and then hubby changed it himself (after 2000 plus miles) then we had the rear A/C replaced, and replaced a water filter too. Fortunately we got a wonderful deal on it and figured we would have to put some money into it before we purchased. I think my hubby loves the thing, he has been working on the RV just about every day it has been parked in the driveway!
